The video above was made from 1039 individual photos. Taken during the arrival Auroral display on the evening of November 11th 2025 approximately 7pm CST. using a Canon R6 Mk II, 15-35mm F/2.8 (@15mm), 3.4 sec ISO 1200. The giant green blobs you see appearing are known as proton aurora and only happen during a corresponding solar radiation storm.
The aurora this evening was so strong that the display moved SOUTH(!) of our location. This timelapse was taken facing southeast and was composed from 230 individual photos.

Hi! My name is Joe and I have an itch to do photography. My picture is a direct representation of me. F1, Legos, Miami Dolphins (next year is our year version 44.1) and all things weather and science. I’m a nerd and I love it. Cat dad. Real dad. Best friend and quite possibly the best hair in the world. Its immaculate at all times. I’m not conceded about that, I’m convinced.
I initially became a photographer because I see beauty in the everyday world around me that begs to be captured in its raw form. That is what drew me in and to this day it still drives me. Being able to see or be a part of those moments fills my cup. Thank you for taking time to read this. I will continue to update the website with more material.
